The difference between different materials of the floor?
There has always been confusion between the different terms surrounding vinyl flooring. Some people call them polyethylene floors, while others call them PVC floors. Also, vinyl flooring is also known as vinyl composition tile flooring and luxury vinyl flooring. So, what's the difference between all these floors?
PVC Flooring and Its Relationship to Vinyl Flooring:PVC floors or polyethylene floors are alternative terms for vinyl floors! PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, which is the material that makes up vinyl floors. Therefore, it is often referred to simply as polyethylene flooring, or simply vinyl flooring, which is the most common term for that particular floor.
The difference between VCT floor and LVT floor:
Although vinyl flooring is a generic term for a type of flooring, VCT flooring and LVT flooring describe specific styles of vinyl flooring.
Vinyl synthetic tile floors are often referred to as VCT floors. The traditional style of vinyl flooring has been around for decades. These can sometimes be used as vinyl floors.
Luxury vinyl flooring is known as LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) or LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank). These are modern improvements to vinyl floors that offer exceptional durability and are designed to perfectly mimic the look of wood, stone, marble and ceramic floors.
