What is the Cause of Floor Warping?

After the rubber floor has been installed for a period of time, the problem of bulging and warping occurs frequently, so we have counted 7 major reasons for the bulging and warping of the rubber floor.

1. Damp soaking in water
Due to improper use of the plastic floor, the faucet or heating in the kitchen or toilet will run off the water, so that the plastic floor will be soaked in water for too long, and the plastic floor glue will be emulsified and deteriorated, so the glue will not have its proper function, so it can only be arched. In continuous rainy weather, the relative humidity in the air was high, and no dehumidification measures were taken. Moisture in the air is absorbed by the rubber floor and then hygroscopic and expands. The house is empty for a long time, uninhabited, and the ventilation is poor. After the water in the stucco layer evaporates, it has nowhere to be released and is absorbed by the rubber floor and then absorbs moisture and expands. The moisture content of the base concrete is too high, and the moisture-proof isolation layer is not sealed and hygroscopic expansion.

2. Expansion joints
No expansion joints left or too narrow. When the rubber floor is laid, a 2 cm gap should be left as an expansion joint and then covered with a skirting line. For the sake of cleanliness, some owners do not reserve expansion joints between adjacent ones when laying the rubber floor as required, or ask the laying workers to keep the joints as thin as possible, which will also make the rubber floor unable to stretch, and will absorb moisture and expand after encountering humid air. It is easy to arch up, and even warp the edge to the point of cracking.

3. Improper drying time
Different types of glue, different materials, different floors and different construction environments, the glue drying time is absolutely different. At this time, an experienced professional craftsman is required to make a straightforward judgment. If the drying time is too short, there will be dense small bulges immediately after the rubber floor is laid; if the drying time is too long, the adhesive force of the glue will be reduced, and the bulging phenomenon will also occur.

4. Improper exhaust
After the rubber floor is pasted, first press the cork blocks in a horizontal sequence to remove all the air under the floor in time, and then use an iron roll of more than 50 kg to roll it horizontally and then vertically. If there is air remaining under the floor, the sticky force of the perineal partition glue will cause the floor to bulge when the temperature changes.

5. Welding too early
After the rubber floor is installed, it is generally required to weld after 24 hours. If the welding is too early, the glue is not fully cured at this time. The instantaneous high temperature of the welding torch will destroy the bonding force of the glue at the joint. At the beginning of the weak link, there will be the phenomenon that the floor of the welding place is arched upward.

6. There is a foreign body in the base layer
During the installation process, if there are foreign objects left under the floor, and it is not cleaned up in time before the rubber floor is installed, it will also cause the floor to arch.

7. Base arching

If there is a solid wood floor on the original ground before installing the rubber floor, after the floor is installed, the original floor will bulge due to moisture, which will also cause the rubber floor to arch.
