Standard bisphenol A epoxy vinyl resin is a vinyl resin synthesized by the reaction of methacrylic acid and bisphenol A epoxy resin. It is easily soluble in styrene solution. This type of resin has the following characteristics:
1. The double bonds at both ends of the molecular chain are extremely active, allowing the vinyl resin to cure quickly, quickly gaining strength in use, and obtaining a polymer with high corrosion resistance;
2. Synthesized by methacrylic acid, the methyl group on the side of the ester bond can play a protective role and improve the hydrolysis resistance;
3. The resin contains less ester bonds, 35-50% less per mole than chemical resistant polyester (bisphenol A-fumaric acid UPR), which improves alkali resistance;
4. More secondary hydroxyl groups can improve the wettability and adhesion to the glass fiber, and improve the mechanical strength of the laminated product;
5. Because it is only cross-linked at both ends of the molecule.
Flame-retardant vinyl resins are generally synthesized from brominated epoxy resins. Because the resin contains bromine, flame-retardant vinyl resins are not only chemically resistant, but also flame-retardant.
